We photographed Meghan and Glen’s engagement session this past fall during the height of the bright fall colors at Wickham Park in Manchester, CT. This was a beautiful place to capture these images and as you can tell this was a perfect backdrop for Meg and Glen! We are so excited for their early June wedding that is right around the corner at The Society Room in Hartford!

On a beautiful Sunday in early September, Susan and Jo Ann were married! (and legally thanks to the state of Connecticut!) Their ceremony was held outside on the Mystic Seaport with breath taking views of the seaport. Both of Susan and Jo Ann’s families traveled to New England to join in their celebration of love. Their daughter Izzy was also a big part of their ceremony as well as part of the whole wedding planning process (she told me her favorite part was the cake tasting). We had so much fun getting to know them at their engagement session a few months back and could not be happier that they choose us to document their day!
You might remember Katie and Andy from their engagement session post on our blog a few months back. Their wedding came on a beautiful Friday in August. Katie’s father drove her to the ceremony at St. Paul’s church in Glastonbury, CT in his prized antique Ford Truck. They are the total outdoors type so they decided to have their reception at beautiful Wickham Park in Manchester, CT which has gorgeous views on downtown Hartford. To keep to their interests they had a barbecue of sliders and potato salad for dinner catered by Plan B. Their wedding went off as perfect as the sunset did that day.
After Crista and Neil’s Hindu ceremony they also wanted to represent Crista’s religion and have a Christian ceremony on the beach followed by a big reception at Coconut Bay resort in St. Lucia. Michele and her team from Awesome Caribbean Weddings put everything together flawlessly. Our friends Dave and Arif from Fairytale Studio were also there doing video. Make sure to check out all of their videos from this incredible trip. He really brought a lot of these images to life.
Crista and Neil’s traditional Hindu Ceremony continued onto take place at their house in the southern part of beautiful St. Lucia. Hindu weddings are supposed to take place outside, on the earth, under a canopy known as a Mandap which Neil and Crista had custom built for them at their house. They followed all of the traditions of a Hindu ceremony. They started with the Baraat where the grooms party arrives in a procession and greeted by the brides family. They continued onto their 3 hour wedding ceremony which was very colorful. The ceremony was followed by an Indian dance by the grooms cousin Monica.
This wedding was such an amazing experience for us. From traveling to another country, to meeting amazing people and getting to photographing the wedding between two genuinely kind awesome people. Neil and Crista we can’t thank you enough for choosing us to document your wedding and your whole family for their warm inviting hospitality.
Next up on the blog is Neil and Crista’s Christian Ceremony on the beautiful beach of St. Lucia!
Crista and Neil’s week long St. Lucia wedding started off with the Hindu preparations ceremony. In the Hindu religion this is a very popular ceremony the night before the wedding where all the family members and friends of the bride and groom celebrate, by eating, singing and dancing all night. There is also an important religious ceremony, which is performed on the eve of the wedding day to the bride and groom separately. You’ll see in the images that Crista and Neil get rubbed down in turmeric powder which is a part of their “beautification process”. This took place at their house in the southern part of St. Lucia. As you can see by the first image, the view from their house over looking the Island is amazing!
Kim and Mike are married! Their intimate wedding took place on Wednesday July, 7 at St Clements Castle in Portland, CT. You might remember from their engagement session post that they were both in the army and deployed all over the world. Now that they are back in the states they decided to tie the knot in Kim’s home state of Connecticut. The day started off Crown Plaza in Cromwell, CT where the girls from Naomi’s Salon in West Hartford came to do the ladies hair and make-up. From there both the reception and ceremony took place at St Clements Castle. While it was a very hot day in July the nice breeze off the Connecticut river cooled everything down to make the ceremony perfect. We had the photo booth going during the reception and this family was a blast as you can tell by the pictures! The night ended with a sparkler farewell.
Kim and Mike- it was so awesome getting to know you and your story! We had a blast at the wedding and wish you all the best in your new home in North Carolina!
Catherine and David are married! With much anticipation their beautiful wedding was on July 3, 2011 at Eolia- The Mansion at Harkness State Park in Waterford, CT with the ceremony at St. Paul’s Church also in Waterford. Everything from this day was planned to perfection down to the last detail. Catherine’s mother and her Aunt Fran (who was also her maid of honor) own a bridal shop Spousa Bella Bridal Shop in Fairfield, CT which is where she got her gorgeous dress and shoes. All the make up was done by Sharyn at A touch of color make-up. The whole event was catered by Dave at A thyme to cook catering. The beautiful flowers were done by Phyl’s Flowers in Stratford, CT. Our friend Dave from Fairytale Studio’s was also along for the ride as the videographer.
Congrats Dave and Cat! We are so thrilled we got to know you first as clients and now as friends. We couldn’t be happier for you!
